14th Annual Merrill Downey Memorial July 5th
The 14th Annual Merrill Downey Memorial presented by TEMPSTAR Heating and Cooling Products will take place this Saturday, July 5th, at the Legendary Lawrenceburg Speedway. The 44 lap A main will pay the winner $5,444 to win and pay $444 to start this prestigious event. A huge thank you to Bobby Gompf and team for their help in raising money to make the $24,043 purse one of the biggest around for modifieds. Joining the modifieds will be the Pro Late Models and they will be racing for $1,200 to win and $200 to start. Tyler Nicely won last years event and Matt Hamilton won the event in 2023. The Merrill Downey Memorial will be a Northern AllStars Modified Points Race this year. The pit gate opens at 2pm, general admission gates open at 5pm. Hot laps start at 6pm and racing to follow. General admission is $20, kids 7-12 $5, 6 & under FREE, Pit pass $40, kids pit pass 10 & under $15 and backstretch passes are $15. Camping is available Friday night but if you plan to camp Saturday night you MUST camp outside of the fenced in midway because of the antique market on Sunday. Drivers and teams are welcome to camp in the pits after the races Saturday.
