Gage Cropper pockets $1,452 in OVSCDRA Debut at Lawrenceburg
The Newfast Motorsports Ohio Valley SCDRA made its debut at the legendary Lawrenceburg Speedway in Lawrenceburg, Indiana on Saturday, August 23rd, drawing a stout field of 33 cars from across the tri-state. The night belonged to 17-year-old Gage Cropper from Flemingsburg, Kentucky, who pocketed $1,452 after bonus money just days before beginning his senior year of high school.
Cropper set the tone early by earning the Mullins Racing & Performance Fast Time Award with a lap of 18.509, then followed it up with a heat race win. He capped off the night with a dominant, flag-to-flag run in the 20-lap feature to secure the victory.
Cropper faced several challenges from Brandon Gibson Jr. before Gibson’s right-front tire went down, ending his night early. A returning Zach Kisner, making his first OVSCDRA start of the season, and Rooster Gibson battled fiercely for second in the closing laps. Kisner ultimately claimed the runner-up spot, with Rooster Gibson in third. Frankie King and Lucas Walters rounded out the top five.
