Bilbee wins Thrilling BOSS Feature!
Nick Bilbee swapped the lead with Scotty Weir throughout the 25 lap Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series/Kelsey Chevrolet Sprint Car feature but took the lead for good on lap 22 on his way to his 4th feature victory of his career at Lawrenceburg. Weir took the lead on the opening lap and led until Bilbee passed him on a restart on lap 7. Weir got back around Bilbee after just one lap and stretched is lead out over Bilbee. As the race went on and into the later stages, Weir’s car seemed to slow somewhat whereas Bilbee’s seemed to be more consistent. Bilbee caught Weir and passed him with 3 laps to go to pick up his first feature win of the year and 4th overall at Lawrenceburg. Weir was second, followed by Bill Rose, Ty Tilton, and Shawn Westerfeld. Heat race winners were Rose, Weir, Michael Fischesser, and Joss Moffatt. Thomas Meseraull and Justin Owen won the B mains.
Hamilton Wins again!
Matt Hamilton got back to winning after a couple weeks of mechanical problems. Jason Hollon led lap 1 before yielding to Hamilton on lap 2. Once Hamilton took the lead. It was really a race for the runner up spot. As we normally see at Lawrenceburg, Hamilton is truly a master once he gets up front, almost impossible to beat. This night was another example of just that. Hamilton won rather easily followed by point leader, Brad Wieck, Kyle Schnornick, Jason Hollon, and Rick Hudson. Heat race winners were Hamilton and Hollon.
Cordell Moore Wins second feature of year!
2 time back to back Bessler’s U pull N Save Track champion, Cordell Moore did it again on Saturday night. He started seventh and steadily worked his way to the front and passed Gary Whitt for the lead on lap 9. He led the final 3 laps to pick up his second win of the year. Gary Whitt finished second followed by Michelle Baird, Billey Moore and Hunter Holton. Heat race winners were Nate Ballmer, Billey Moore, Michelle Baird, and Doug Yust. Gary Hume and Josh Atkins won the two B Mains.
Joel Andrews wins two features in one night!
Joel Andrews started off the night winning the Impact Purestocks makeup feature from the previous week. He did it in rather convincing fashion. At the end of the night, he finished it off the way he started by winning the purestock feature. He had to work a little harder for this as he and point leader Mike Ackman raised for the lead lap after lap. Ackman spun out in turn 4 turning the lead over to Andrews who led the remaining 9 laps on his way to his second win of the year and of the night. Adam Jones was second, Ackman, Katie Smith, and Aaron Fannin rounded out the top 5.
