Gaines Wins Opening Night Sprint Car Feature!

 

Dickie Gaines took the lead on lap 9 from Dakota Jackson and went on to win the opening night feature for The Kelsey Chevrolet Sprint Cars at Lawrenceburg Speedway.  Dakota Jackson led the first 9 laps around the bottom of the track which was the preferred line.  Gaines found some grip in turn 2 on the outside lane and used momentum to get around Jackson for the lead.  Once Gaines secured the lead, he would not be challenged.  The rest of the top 5 was Joss Moffatt, Dakota Jackson, Brady Bacon and Jarett Andretti.  Bacon was the hard charge after starting 17th.  Heat race winners were Jackson, Moffatt and Nick Bilbee.

 

 

Hamilton Wins Modified Feature!

 

Matt Hamilton left off in 2018 as the dominant modified yet finished second in the championship.  He started 2019 off strong winning the feature on opening night and the first feature for the newly named KOI Auto Parts Modifieds.  Hamilton led all 20 laps.  Rest of the top 5 was Josh Morton, Kyle Schornick, Brad Weick and Mike Webber.  Heat race winners were Brad Weick and Matt Hamilton.

 

 

McElfresh Wins First Feature!

 

Columbus, Ohio’s Jimmy McElfresh picked up his first feature win on opening night in the Bessler’s U Pull in Save Hornets Feature.  McElfresh led all 12 laps en route to his first feature win.  McElfresh beat Gary Hume, Doug Yust, Jack Plfum, and Cordell Moore.  Heat race winners were Michelle Baird, Gary Hume, Hunter Holton, and Doug Yust.  Bradley Eberhart and Tyler McGhee won the 2 B mains.

 

 

Ackman Wins Opening Night Purestock Feature!

 

Mike Ackman led all 15 laps to pick up the feature win on opening night at Lawrenceburg.  Going into 2019, Ackman appears to be the favorite to win the Impact Sports Purestock Title.  He was one of the dominant cars last year and showed on opening night he will be again.  15-year-old Will Hayes finished a strong second followed by James Ackman, Christopher Combs and Don Grace.  Heat race winners were Mike Ackman and Don Grace.
