June 11th: Family Night @ the Races
Westerfeld Dominates BOSS Feature!
Shawn Westerfeld led all 25 laps in dominating fashion to pick up his 3rd win of the year at Lawrencweburg. Westerfeld started from the pole position and had no trouble pulling away from the field. The only challenge was from Garrett Abrams who at one point had caught the race leader but quickly Westerfeld was able to pull away. The race went green to checkered flag in about 6 minutes time. Finishing behind Westerfeld were Garrett Abrams, Jarrett Andretti, Dallas Hewitt, and Cooper Clause. Heat race winners were Andretti, Westerfeld, Brandon Spithaler, and Garrett Abrams. Joss Moffatt won the B Main. The Kelsey Chevrolet Sprint Cars return to the track on Saturday June 18th.
Schnornick Wins with a Little Bit of Luck!
Matt Hamilton started from the pole for the 20 lap Budweiser UMP Modifieds and when that is the case, Hamilton has been pretty much unbeatable. As the green flag flew, Hamilton Took off and looked like this would be another typical Hamilton feature. Hamilton would lead the first 17 laps until he broke a driveshaft entering turn 3 and hit the outside wall ending his race and chance at a win. This turned the lead over the Kyle Schornick who was able to lead the final 3 laps to pick up his first win of the year and the fifth of his career at Lawrenceburg. The rest of the top 5 was Billy Vaughn, David Spille, Kyle Herbert, and Scotty Kincaid. Heat race winners were Kincaid, Kyle Herbert, Billy Vaughn, and Matt Hamilton. Colin Green won the B main. The Budweiser UMP Modifieds return to Lawrenceburg on Saturday June 18th.
Defending Champ Baird Wins Hornet Feature!
The Besslers U Pull N Save Hornets rarely fail to disappoint, and this race was no different. Each of the Hornets is so competitive. 5-6 cars would battle for the lead including Tim Baird, Kyle Willoughby, Jaden Mayhan and Destin Grout. As the 12 lap feature neared the end, it came down to Baird and Gage Clark. Baird was able to hold off Clark for his second win at Lawrenceburg. Ironically Clark finished 2nd for the 5th time this year. The rest of the top 5 were point leader Dalton Smith, Kyle Willoughby, and Josh Hammond. Heat race winners were Michelle Baird, Jessica Gibson, Jadne Mayhan, and Dalton Smith. Adam Love won the B Main. The Besslers U Pull N Save return to the track on Saturday June 18th.
McRoberts Dominates and Wins PureStock Feature!
Will McRoberts Started on the outside front row and showed in the Impact Purestock class, he is one of the best there is. He was able to grab the lead form pole sitter Don Grace and from that point on, he led to the checkered flag. Finishing behind him was his son Corebin McRoberts, Eric House, Don Grace and Chris Combs. Heat race winners were JD Largent, and Don Grace. The Impact Sports Purestocks return to the Burg on Saturday June 18th.
