Latham wins Late Model Feature!
Winchester, Ohio’s Nick Latham won The late Model Feature Saturday night at The Lawrenceburg Speedway. The rare late model event at Lawrenceburg is 1 of 2 late model shows run at Lawrenceburg in 2015.
Nicely Wins Merril Downey!
Owensboro Kentucky native, Tyler Nicely, won the 4th annual Merrill Downey Memorial at The Lawrenceburg Speedway and won over $6500 in doing so. 57 modifieds came out to compete for the $4,444.44 winners purse. Only 24 drivers would make the 44 lap feature event with lap money for every lap led. The green flag would wave and Nicely from his outside second row starting spot would grab the lead. Nicely would scoot out to a very comfortable 3 second lead. The guys behind Nicely had a good battle for second on back. Josh Harris, Victor Lee, and Joey Kramer raced hard on the slick track with new Modified point leader, Matt Hamilton moving into the 5th position. The yellow flag flew on lap 17 bunching the field back up and clearing the track for the leaders of lapped cars. On the restart, Nicely and Harris would race side by side for several laps until Nicely was finally able to pull away. In the end Nicely would lead all 44 laps and the winners purse plus lap led money for over $6500. Harris, Lee, Kramer, and Hamilton rounded out the top 5 Heat race winners were Harris, Nicely, Lee, JT Ayers, Keith Smith, and Joey Kramer. B Mains were won by Fireball Pinkerton, David Spille, and Chris Stotts.
