Meseraull wins for third time in 2015!

The BOSS Sprint Car Series made their first trip to Lawrenceburg in 2015. The Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series is a regional non wing sprint car series that features many racers from the tristate area and including Pennsylvania. On Friday night, The BOSS series was at Limaland where Thomas Meseraull picked up the feature win. The Current Kelsey Chevrolet Sprint car point leader was primed to make it back to back feature wins in consecutive nights. T-Mez took the green flag from the 8th starting spot and quickly moved to the front behind leader and pole sitter Drew Abel. It didn’t take long for Meseruall to get around Abel and set sail in the 25 lap Sprint car Feature. Meseraull had no challengers up front and cruised his way to an easy win. Second place finisher Garrett Abrams had his best finish of his career followed by Kody Swanson, Joss Moffatt and Mike Miller. Heat race winners were Swanson, Abrams, Meseraull and Michael Fischesser. Aaron Middaugh won the B Main. The Sprint cars return to Lawrenceburg on Saturday, June 13th.

Hamilton Wins 4th feature in thrilling fashion!

Matt Hamilton has clearly been the dominant driver here in 2015.   Coming into this night, he had already won 3 features. He would start from the pole and appear to have everyone covered without any serious threat. That was until about lap 16 when Joey Kramer got around Hamilton on a restart. Kramer appeared to have Hamilton covered but coming to the white flag, Hamilton pulled alongside Kramer and beat him back to the line as the crowd cheered him to victory. It was one of the best races in recent years and one that fans who witnessed will remember for many years. Kramer had to settle for second followed by Budweiser UMP Modified Point leader David Spille was third followed by Kyle Schnornick and Weasel Rhoades in 5th. Heat winners were Kramer, Hamilton, and Kyle Herbert. The Budweiser UMP Modifieds return to Lawrenceburg on Saturday June 13th.

McRoberts does it the hard way for 4 in a row!

Will McRoberts had to start last in the feature due to winning 2 features in a row. So when the green flag flew he was dead last, after one lap he had picked up 6 spots. He was on his way to the front.   The race was put under caution early on when 3 time defending champion Scott Hensley was turned around in turn 2 by Brandon Gibson. Hensley’s rear end was demolished and Gibson was Dq’ed for the night. When the racing resumed, Houston Roark led the way with Corebin McRoberts in second. These two battled for a few laps before Corebin was able to pass Houston for the lead. But it wouldn’t be for long as Will Mcroberts, Corebin’s father was right on his tail. He trailed Corebin for a few laps before sweeping around Corebin for the lead and leading the rest of the way in the 15 lap feature. Corebin ran second followed by Houston Roark, Eric House, and Don Grace. Heat race winners were Will McRoberts, and Scott Hensley. The Impact Sports Pure Stocks will return to the Burg on Saturday July 25th.

Smith becomes first Female Feature Winner!

No female driver had ever won a feature at Lawrenceburg since the track has been in its current connfiguration. Katie Smith, from Centerville, Indiana would make history as the first woman to do that. She made her first trip to Lawrenceburg and really showed how dominant she could be winning her heat race and then started on the outside of the front row. She took the lead quickly but had to battle with the defending hornet champion Dalton Roark for the first half of the race before the two made contact on the track a couple different times and Roark was unable to continue due to damage. That really allowed Smith to pull away and not have any other challengers. Gary Hume finished second followed by Kendall Eberhart Jr, Brandon Gibson, Jr. and Tyler McGhee. Heat race winners were Smith, Dalton Roark, and Tyler McGhee. The Besslers U Pull N Save Hornets return to the track on Saturday July 25th.

The next event at Lawrenceburg Speedway is Saturday, June 13th. It’s USAC Indiana Midget Week. Racing will feature the USAC Midgets, Kelsey Chevrolet Sprints, and the Budweiser UMP Modifieds. For complete event details, visit www.lawrenceburgspeedway.com
