May 9th-College Night @ the Races

Meseraull wins for second time in 2015!

Thomas Meseraull had already won at Lawrenceburg this year, and had assumed the point lead as well. On this night, Meseraull would add to the win column and increase his points lead in the Kelsey Chevrolet Sprint Car Standings. He would take the green flag from the 4th position and quickly challenge for the top spot with race leader Joss Moffatt and front running driver Jarrett Andretti. Meseraull made a move around Moffatt for the lead as the caution came out, moving Meseraull back to the runner up spot. When the green flag flew again, Moffatt would protect the inside which is where Meseraull had passed him the first time, so T-Mez would take the lead around the outside in turn 3 and 4. Meseruall then coasted his way to the victory and 5th of his career at Lawrenceburg. Moffatt ran second followed by Jarrett Andretti, Nick Bilbee, and Kyle Robbins. Heat race winners were Andretti, and Meseraull. The Kelsey Chevrolet Sprints return next Saturday May 16th alongside the KISS Sprint Car Series.

Hamilton Wins for 3rd time!

Matt Hamilton picked up his 3rd win for the year, but what was even more impressive is how he did it. Hamilton would roll off from the 7th starting spot. Meanwhile, Joey Kramer would start 4th and take the lead coming out of turn 2 and start sail. One thing that fans don’t normally see at Lawrenceburg is when the 77 car driven by Kramer gets out front, is him getting passed for the lead. Hamilton had something to say about that. He didn’t take long to get to the runner up spot and chase Kramer down. He actually passed Joey in turn 3 only to see the caution flag putting him back in the second spot. Following the yellow, Kramer would hold the lead for the next several laps but would not be able to hold off Hamilton the rest of the way. Hamilton’s car was just better through the turns and he got around Kramer and pulled away for the win. Hamilton won for the third time in 2015 and 7th of his career. Kramer finished second followed by point leader David Spille, Trent Green, and David Smith. Heat race winners were Smith, and Green.   The Budweiser UMP Modifieds return to The Burg next Saturday on May 16th.

McRoberts wins 3 In a Row!

Will McRoberts is on a roll and right now, appears to be unbeatable. He dominated the last 2 Impact Sports Pure Stock features and chased down leader, Scott Hensley, 3 time and defending champ for the win. McRoberts, who missed the first race of the year, looks like the man to beat in the Pure Stocks. He had little trouble getting to the front and no trouble staying there once he got there. McRoberts picked up the $500 paycheck up from the standard $300 purse because of a special event. Hensley finished second followed by Houston Roark, Chris Combs, and Scott Beeler. Heat Chris Combs and Will McRoberts.

Kendall Eberhart Jr. wins first feature and celebrates Birthday!

Kendall Eberhart would celebrate his 41st birthday this weekend and pick up a very nice birthday present. The feature win wouldn’t be easy but he would earn it. Eberhart Jr. started from the pole and would be challenged the entire 12 lap feature from cars beating and banging him into the turns. Sometimes his car would slide sideways and challengers, Dalton Smith, and point leader Andrew Roark would pull alongside but Eberhart Jr. was always able to maintain the lead. He would pick up his first career feature win in the Besslers U Pull N Save Hornets. Dalton Smith ran second, followed by Andrew Roark, Tim Baird and John Hampton. Heat race winners were Matthew Morris, Dalton Roark, and Dalton Smith. The Bessler’s U Pull N Save Hornets return to The Burg next Saturday on May 16th.
