September 13th: Night of Champions

Grant wins race, Westerfeld secures Championship!

Shawn Westerfeld dominated the 25 lap Lawrenceburg Chevrolet Sprint Car feature. As he caught lapped traffic, Justin Grant was able to catch up and put pressure on Westerfeld. As Westerfeld came out of turn 4 with just 2 laps to go, A slower car spun sideways into Westerfeld causing Westerfeld to lose the lead to Grant but even worse put a scare in Westerfeld’s championship hopes. With only 2 laps remaining, and the damage appearing minimal on Westerfeld, He was able to hold on to second and secure the championship. He had entered the race tied with Joss Moffatt who started 7th and was never a factor for the win. Grant won for the 2nd time this year and puts him second all time in wins behind Brady Short at the 3/8 mile Lawrenceburg Speedway. Westerfeld finishes second followed by Jarret Andretti, Travis Hery and Joss Moffatt. Heat race winners were Grant, Andretti, Garrett Abrams and Tony Main.
