Hupp Goes back to Back At Lawrenceburg!

Logan Hupp, won last week’s feature race at Lawrenceburg, did it again on this night. 20 Lawrenceburg Chevrolet Sprint Cars took the green flag with Wapakoneta’s Mike Miller jumping to the lead and controlling the first 10 laps. Miller was setting a quick pace, and began to lap the tail of the field. This played right into Hupp’s hand. Hupp has shown all year that he is a master at driving through slower traffic. He quickly reeled in Miller and passed him to take the lead. Unfortunately, Miller would have car trouble and eventually pull off the track and finished 17th. Shawn Westerfeld did his best to keep up with Hupp, even throwing a slide job to take the lead on lap 23. Hupp was able to dive back underneath Westerfeld and regain the top spot. Hupp officially led the final 15 laps to pick up his second win of the season and second in a row at Lawrenceburg. Westerfeld finished second followed by Kyle Robbins, Joss Moffatt, and Dalton Gabbard. Heat race winners were TJ Heil who picked up his first career heat race win, Logan Hupp and Mike Miller. Logan Hupp, the 2012 Track Champion is the current point leader by 60 points over Shawn Westerfeld. The Lawrenceburg Chevrolet Sprint Cars return to The Burg next Saturday May 3rd.

3rd Generation driver, Adam Stricker wins at Lawrenceburg!

15 year old Adam Stricker from Batavia, Ohio has been turning heads all year driving the family owned UMP Modified at the local dirt tracks. After picking up a win a few weeks ago at Moler Raceway park in Mt. Orab, Ohio, Stricker had been hungry for more. The teenager, who legally can’t drive himself to the racetrack, certainly doesn’t drive like his age on the racetrack. Stricker led all 20 laps and was never challenged as he easily beat the rest of the field. Stricker joins his grandfather Joey, his father, Jimmy as a 3rd generation of drivers in the family owned Stricker Auto Parts car. The rest of the top 5 was Adam Hamilton, Scotty Kincaid, Andrew Corbin, and Shawn Brown. Heat race winners were JT Ayers, and Adam Stricker. Lawrenceburg native, Jim Fliehman is the current point leader for the modifieds. The modifieds will be back at Lawrenceburg on Saturday May 3rd.

Will McRoberts dominates Purestocks!

Madion, Indiana’s Will McRoberts dominated the night in the Impact Sports Purestocks leading all 15 laps to pick up his first feature win of the year. As always, the Purestocks put on an exciting show for the fans as tempers flared between several drivers for on track incidents. All of that happened behind the leader who had smooth sailing the entire race. The rest of the top 5 was last week’s feature winner, Scott Beeler, Jimmy Block, Scott Hensley, and Tony Roland. Heat Race winners were Will McRoberts, and Jimmy Block. Scott Beeler took over the point lead and has a 50 point advantage on defending champion, Soctt Hensley. The Impact Sports Pure Stocks return to the track on Saturday, May 3rd.

Roark wins 3 in a row!

Dupont, Indiana’s Dalton Roark continues to impress the Bessler’s U Pull N Save Hornet class as he won for the third time in a row at Lawrenceburg. By rule, Roark had to start from the 10th position the last 2 weeks and had to race his way to the front. It seemed tough sledding for the 15 year this night as former modified driver David Daughtery challenged Roark for the win. Pole Sitter Tim Schumacher led the first 5 laps until Daughtery led, followed by a quick pass for the lead by Roark. Roark was able to hold off Daughtery for the feature victory. This was Roark’s third victory of the year, and 4th overall at Lawrenceburg. The rest of the top 5 was Daughtery, Schumacher, Gage Clark, and Andrew Roark, (Dalton’s older brother). Heat race winners were Dalton Roark, and Tim Schumacher. Dalton Roark is the current point leader by 95 over Schumacher. The Bessler’s U Pull N Save Hornets return to Lawrenceburg on Saturday May 10th.
