Inside Line Promotions – LAWRENCEBURG, Ind. (May 31, 2018) – Greg Wilson posted his best World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series finish of the season last Friday during the Outlaw Showdown at The Dirt Track at Charlotte.

Wilson kicked off the event by qualifying a season-best fifth at the 4/10-mile oval in Concord, N.C. A fourth-place result in a heat race locked him into the main event and he closed the night with a 14th-place run.

“It’s all about making progress and our team is doing that,” he said. “The big picture is overcoming some of the things that hampered us to start the year. We’ve been working hard to remedy it and I think nights like last Friday show that we’re heading in the right direction.”

The holiday weekend wrapped up for Wilson and his Hercules Tires, Ohio Logistics, DNC Hydraulics and Gear Alloy backed team on Monday at Lawrenceburg Speedway during the Memorial Day Spectacular presented by KOI Auto Parts.

“We were the last car out for qualifying and we weren’t able to lay down a great time, which hurts you for the remainder of the night,” he said. “It’s pretty tough to dig yourself out of a qualifying hole. We did make some gains in the Last Chance Showdown, but it wasn’t enough.”

Wilson has a pair of World of Outlaws races on tap this weekend. The action begins on Friday at I-96 Speedway in Lake Odessa, Mich., during the Rumble in Michigan before a show on Saturday at Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, Wis., for the Badger 40.

“I’m excited to get more laps at I-96 and Wilmot,” he said. “We don’t have a ton of laps at any of the tracks we’re heading to this weekend so it should be a great learning week.”

Wednesday’s event at Fairbury American Legion Speedway in Fairbury, Ill., for the FVP Platinum Battery Showdown was postponed until next Tuesday.

Wilson also has a Hercules Tires dealership visit next Monday at Precision Auto & Tire Pros in Oconomowoc, Wis., from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
